‘Rajesh Khanna’s car would be covered in lipstick marks’: Kiran Kumar says

Actor Kiran Kumar reflected on collaborating with the late superstar Rajesh Khanna, whom he was accused of mimicking on screen. He said that ‘Kaka ji’s stardom was unparalled, and looked back on the time they spent together at his house during the making of the 1972 film Savera, which Rajesh Khanna bankrolled.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Kiran was asked about the comparisons made between him and the late star, and he attempted to explain why this happened. He said that he would visit Rajesh Khanna at his home, which was called ‘Dimple’, not after his ex-wife Dimple Kapadia, but after the daughter of yesteryear actor Rajendra Kumar, from whom the house was purchased. they’d spend long hours rehearsing scenes from the film, Kiran Kumar said, and because the star would perform the scenes live, Kiran ingrained that version so deeply that it reflected as such on screen.
