Originally scheduled for release on December 15, Yodha will now hit theaters on December 8, 2023. In a twist of fate, it appears that Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s film Merry Christmas is also set to release on December 8, 2023, creating a box office clash with Yodha. Amid this intriguing turn of events, Karan Johar shared a mysterious message on his social media account.
Taking to his Instagram, Karan Johar posted a cryptic message in bold letters on a black screen that read, “Damn You, Conscience!!” Accompanying the post, he added the caption, “Got served some truth bombs (sad emoji).”

Yodha, directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, is set against the backdrop of an airplane hijack and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna. Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra have collaborated on several projects in the past, including Student of The Year, Brothers, Hasee Toh Phasee, and Shershaah. Yodha is a joint venture between Prime Video & Dharma Productions, in association with Mentor Disciple Films and is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, directed by Sriram Raghavan, brings together Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi for the first time. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, among others. This unexpected clash at the box office has added an extra layer of intrigue to these highly-anticipated film releases.
