Furthermore: Nushrratt went to Israel to take part in the 39th Haifa International Film Festival, where her film Akelli was selected for screening. Yet, fate had different plans. As hostilities intensified, leading to the deadliest day of violence in Israel in the past half-century, Nushrratt found herself amid the chaos.
We say: We are glad Nushrratt is back home safe ‘n’ sound. She was reported missing but thankfully, all is well. On a more personal note, I’ve been to Israel and I think it’s one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with some of the nicest people I’ve known. I’ve met people from Palestine too and they too were well read, articulate and extremely welcoming. It’s a pity things escalated into a full-fledged war…. Though there have been a lot of tension and mindless battles for many years between these two, perhaps these two beautiful countries should just sit down and iron out their problems. Though of course, it’s easier said than done.
