What: Celina Jaitly thanked National Commission of Women in India after they took up her complaint against a Pakistani journalist, Umair Sandhu, who allegedly harassed her and made false claims about her having physical relations with Feroz Khan and Fardeen Khan. NCW chief Rekha Sharma wrote: “Take care Celina. Every Indian is with you.”
Furthermore: Jaitly said the matter has been raised with the Pakistan High Commission and immediate “investigation and action” has been sought. Celina said: ‘Umair Sandu took to Twitter to make viral untrue horrific claims about me which included bizarre allegations like my relations with both my mentor Feroz Khan and his son Fardeen, in addition he made claims targeting me and my family’s safety and security even in Austria. My response to his harassment and fake claims from Pakistan went viral and garnered support from millions of Twitterati including Pakistani nationals who were appalled at his behaviour…’
We say: We feel for Celina Jaitly. Celina told us exclusively that “The thing is that he changes location on social media to show that he is in different countries claiming to be a “South Asian” film critic. He survives off our industry like a vulture tearing apart people’s lives, honour and dignity with no regrets. I felt violated to the core with what he did to me, including threatening my life in Austria… for no reason, out of nowhere.’
