Armaan Malik, the Indian singer, recently faced backlash on social media after he called Ranbir Kapoor the “best actor of our generation” in reference to the film Animal. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer was released on December 1, 2023, and received mixed reviews from the audience.
His initial tweet praising Ranbir Kapoor read, “#RanbirKapoor is the best actor of our generation. Period.”
In response to the criticism he received for his praise of Ranbir Kapoor’s acting skills, Armaan Malik took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) to address the trolls. In a post, he expressed his frustration at being judged for expressing admiration for someone’s craft.
“I hate that by just saying what I felt about somebody being the best actor, so many peeps are coming at me and judging me as a person lol you guys really need to chill. I wrote that tweet in admiration of someone’s craft, and that was that. Kindly take your hate elsewhere. Thank you,” Armaan Malik wrote.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal features an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Damri, Charu Shankar, and others in pivotal roles. The film’s success has even led to hints of a sequel titled Animal Park.
